An Oriental rug may be defined as a hand-made rug produced by traditional methods of weaving in countries occupying territory along the ancient silk route to the East. this particular design is typical of the Ming rugs. A Chinese lattice forms the medallion in the center and the butterflies surround and dominate the boarder theme. Knowing that the traditional patterns have been handed down through many generations, we can take great delight in the handwork involved in reproducing this miniature replica. Pattern is silk screened on an 11" fabric square and requires a #1, #2 and #6 punchneedle. Additional supplies and thread suggestions are listed on the instruction sheets included with the pattern. Finished size is a 6-1/2" x 9" rectangular shape. Beautiful alternative to French knot rug making for one-inch (1:12) scale dollhouse miniatures.
