Product Description
This 5/16" wide (exterior dimension) by 24" long by 5/32" high basswood strip is perfect for finishing edges of wood or foam core walls that are approximately 3/16" thick and often used in designing structural prototypes, etc. NE547 channel molding is also good for concealing wiring and imperfections in dollhouse, dioramas, or miniature settings. Side edges are about 1/32" thick while the base is about 1/16" thick. Unfinished wood strip from Northeastern Scale Lumber. Also referred to as 516CHA.
TIP: Do you have trouble cutting this channel? Do the side edges break or split when you attempt to cut the channel using a miter box? Try cutting the strip with the sides (legs) down. I have found that by inserting a filler strip of wood (3/32" x 1/4") such as MW4036 as a temporary support while cutting seems to protect the delicate sides from damage.

Wood is too fragile
The wood was too fragile for my purposes. I attempted cutting miter joints and the wood fell apart. A waste of time and money!
