The #6 punchneedle uses 4, 5, or 6 strands of embroidery floss or equal size threads (such as size 5 perle cotton or silk, rayon, linen, wool and 2mm silk or rayon ribbon). It produces a thicker, bulkier texture. The #6 punchneedle works up faster and uses large amounts of thread quickly. Best on larger size patterns with minimum detail (or a portion of a large design). Bernadine's Needle Art Russian punchneedle embroidery needles are branded with a "B" on the front side of the brass handle. The gauge (yellow colored plastic tubing for #6) is an incredibly simple method of creating and maintaining consistent loop size with every stitch while the threader makes threading the needle a breeze.
